The On-Demand Webinar and Educator Self-Care Toolkit is meant for every educator, employee, and volunteer identified as eligible under the NH contract. The webinar is a 45-minute overview of The Regulated Classroom©, providing an explanation of the primary purpose of The Regulated Classroom© and its intended benefit.  It includes a brief description of the science and theories that support the approach.

The Train-the-Trainer Events and Educator Self-Care Toolkit are intended to build internal capacity in schools or districts to train other staff members in the approach.  This will strengthen the likelihood of broad application of the approach, especially for those that were only able to access the on-demand webinar.

Those encouraged to attend include, but are not limited to, school counselors, school social workers, student assistance counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, special education teachers, teachers, paraprofessionals, department leaders, administrators, etc. The trainings are designed to provide participants a thorough understanding of the theories, practices, and tools of The Regulated Classroom©. Emphasis will be placed upon participants recognizing their own patterns of stress activation and release.

• All participants completing a Train-the-Trainer Event will receive a certificate and are encouraged to return to their respective schools or organizations to train their colleagues in the 4 core practices and essential educator capacities of the approach.

Yes. We are currently working on dates and locations for additional Train the Trainer events and will post to the Events page of regulatedclassroom.com as they become available.

Educator Self-care Toolkit includes The Regulated Classroom© guidebook and multiple self-regulation tools, such as a cozy, washable weighted scarf, an assortment of high-quality manipulatives, and additional items designed to support self-care.

Child and student safety is at the core of all activities of The Regulated Classroom©.  The approach does offer some activities which include physical contact between educator and student.  Safe physical contact is essential to human wellbeing and can be a key component of regulation for some individuals. That said, TOUCH MUST ONLY BE APPROACHED WITHIN CERTAIN GUIDELINES.  Within The Regulated Classroom© guidebook, included in the Educator Self-Care Toolkit, is specific language about how to approach these exercises if you choose.

All practices referenced in The Regulated Classroom© are optional.  Use only those activities that align with your school district policies.

Touch Disclaimer: Proceed very slowly with any touch activities and gain explicit permission from your administrator to engage in any touch practices. Never undertake these activities alone. They are to be shared in the classroom—in plain sight of all. Also, do not engage in touch practices if you are not comfortable with them. Lastly, touch should only be engaged after explicit consent (permission) is established and on areas of the body that are less subject to misinterpretation (i.e. head, hands, feet).

You are eligible to receive a certificate of participation for the Train the Trainer (12 contact hours) if you attend the event in its entirety. If you are seeking a certificate for the webinar, please email Margot.
